Attesting German Documents for the UAE

Attesting a German document can be a difficult procedure, mainly because of the number of steps involved in legalising the document from start to finish. The most common German documents requiring legalisation are educational documents, but we can legalise any officially issued German Certificate if required. We can also help you acquire replacement German Birth, Marriage and Death Certificates if required, before legalising them for use in the UAE. The general process for attesting a document from German is as below.

How It Works

To attest your German Documents, we will require both the original certificate and a copy of your passport. 

• Send us your documents or have them collected by our specially allocated couriers.
• We'll have them sent safely to Germany, where four things will happen:

1. First, the document will go through a pre-legalisation process at the Ministry of Federal State.
2. Then, the document will be translated from German into either English or Arabic, to make it acceptable for use in the UAE.  
3. Thirdly, your document will be need to be attested at the local District Court in your area.
4. Finally, your document with need to sent to the UAE Embassy in Berlin, where the legalisation process will end.

• Your document will be returned to the UAE and attested at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), before being sent back to you (or anywhere else you might need), safe and sound.

The process for different documents can vary however. For example, for an educational document, an original copy of the document will have to be pre-legalised at the Ministry of Culture and Science (Ministerium für Bildung und Kultur), rather than the Ministry of Federal State.
