Do you need a Spanish document to be attested for use in the UAE? We can help.

Attesting a Spanish document can be complicated because the process varies between different types of documents. The most common Spanish documents requiring attestation are educational documents, but we can attest any officially-issued Spanish document you may have. We can also help you acquire replacement Spanish Birth, Marriage and Death Certificates if required, before attesting them for use in the UAE. 

What we do for you

The general process for attesting a document issued in Spain is as follows:

To attest your Spanish Documents, we will require both the original certificate and a copy of your passport. 

  • Send us your documents or have them collected by our specially allocated couriers.
  • We'll have them sent safely to Madrid, Spain where two things will happen in all cases:
  1. Your document will need to be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), where the verification process will take place.
  2. Then, the document will need to be sent to the UAE Embassy in Madrid, where it will be legalised.
  3. Thirdly, the document will be translated from Spanish into English, so it can be accepted for use in the UAE.
  • Finally, your document will be returned to the UAE and attested at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), before being sent back to you (or anywhere else you might need), safe and sound.

This is the general process for all Spanish Documents being attested for the UAE. However, different documents will have different requirements. For example, birth, marriage and death certificates first need to be legalised by the Regional Superior Court, and then by the Ministry of Justice, before the rest of the legalisation process can take place. If it is a University diploma, the steps to follow will depend on the type of diploma you have received; in some cases the primary legalization will have to be conducted at the Ministry of Education but in other cases the it will have to be notarised by a notary public and then by the Council of Notaries before the rest of the process can take place.
