Are you from Italy and need to attest your Italian Documents for use in the UAE? We can help.

The attestation of Italian Documents can be quite a lengthy process, as there are a lot of steps involved in readying a document for use in the UAE. Certain steps maybe required for some documents and not others. The most common Italian Documents requiring legalisation are educational documents, but we can legalise any officially issued Italian Certificate if required.

What we do for you

To attest your Italian Documents, we will require both the original certificate and a copy of your passport.

  • Send us your documents or have them collected by our specially allocated couriers.
  • We'll have them sent safely to Italy, where two things will happen:
  1. Your document will be sent to either the Prosecutor's Office (Procura della Republica) or your provincial Prefecture (Prefettura), where the legalisation procedure will begin.
  2. Then, your document will be sent to the UAE Embassy, where a Certificate of Legalisation will be added to the front page.
  • Finally, your document will be returned to the UAE and attested at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), before being sent back to you (or anywhere else you might need), safe and sound.

This is the general process for attesting Italian Documents for the UAE, though there can be some differences depending on the type of document you're trying to attest. For example, certified copies of documents have to be notarised before the legalisation procedure can begin. If your document needs to be translated (which tends to be the case), it will have to be translated from Italian into either English or Arabic. This translation will then have to be authenticated before being sent to the Procura della Republica, after which the procedure can take place as usual.

The UAE Embassy your document will be sent to will also differ depending on what part of Italy your document was issued in. The Embassy in Milan deals with queries for the northern part of the country, while the Embassy in Rome deals with them for the south

The number of variables makes it difficult to give either an accurate price or timescales. Please contact us with your requirements and we'll do our best to find a solution for you.
